Milltown Java is pleased to host our annual Milltown Java Jog 5K. This year we would like to highlight our Princeton Public Library. After years of sharing space, our library just celebrated their one year anniversary of moving into their own space in the Princeton community building. Since the move in September 2023, they have had 2,000 patron visits, which is exponentially more than previous years. Outside of book circulation and promoting literacy, the librarians have a vision to make this small town library a place for their community to come for information, resources, events, and much more – truly “where we go to grow“ and through tireless work, have made great strides in that direction since the move. Princeton Public Library is a private town library, funded by the town of Princeton and donations from many faithful supporters. Princeton Area Library Supporters (PALS) have been the main champions for the library through their efforts in fundraising and raising awareness. PALS has faithfully carried the torch to keep the library operating for many, many years. Thanks to the many generous book donations this year, the library will be adding many books to their circulation shelves. With more books to rotate, continued library loans through the NC Cardinal System, and the increased patronage of Princeton Public Library, there is a need for a proper outdoor library book return drop off box. This year‘s race proceeds will go towards the purchase and installation of this drop off box with remaining funds used for much-needed supplies and maintenance.
