To celebrate Evart's historical roots in the logging industry, we invite you to participate in the Timber Beast Adventure Race. This is a great event for beginners, friends, families, and the experienced athlete.

The timber beast is a tough logger who belongs outdoors. He does not allow man, nor beast, nor nature to stand in his way. The timber beast must have a steady eye, a strong arm, and a clear brain to conquer the forest and battle the elements. Are you up to the challenge of running, biking and kayak/canoe through this dry triathlon? Register today to embody the savage spirit of the timber beast right here in the heart of Michigan

Course Information:
2 mile River Course
Athletes will complete the dry triathlon  by paddling 1 mile upstream in the Muskegon River, turn around and paddle 1 mile downstream. YOU are responsible for providing your own canoe/kayak AND Personal Flotation Device

12 Mile Bike Course
Athletes interested in the dry triathlon will then bike 6 miles east on the Rails-to-Trails, turn around and bike 6 miles back to Riverside Park. All bike paths are paved. YOU will need your own bicycle AND helmet for this course.
5k Run Course
The running course starts and ends at Evart's Riverside Park. Runners will travel west on Rails-to-Trails, through the natural trail that runs close to the Muskegon River, and then through Evart's southern part of town.
